Install SlicerX, embed it in your own app, connect printers, and give your AI tools the same skills through the MCP server.

Start

  • Installing SlicerX

SlicerX is pre-alpha and has no released binaries or published packages yet.

Embed and integrate

  • Embedding SlicerX

Other apps can use SlicerX at several levels: the Rust crate, the sx CLI, the npm package, a C ABI, the viewport and settings panel, theming, and the MCP server for AI tools.

  • Building your own edition

SlicerX has two layers. The base kit (the slicing engine, settings, viewport, printer connectors, PrintPilot and the MCP server) is MPL-2.0 and can be embedded anywhere; docs/embedding.md covers that.

AI and MCP

  • @slicerx/mcp

A Model Context Protocol server that gives AI tools (Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor and any other MCP client) what PrintPilot, the assistant built into SlicerX, can do: slice and estimate, plan and check...

  • SlicerX plugin for Claude Code

SlicerX, the AI-ready slicer, as a Claude Code plugin.

Theming

Printers

  • Printer and service connectors

SlicerX talks to printers and to two home services through connectors that share one interface.

  • Bambu Lab (LAN mode)

Connects to Bambu Lab X1, X1 Carbon, P1P, P1S, A1, A1 mini and H2D printers over your local network: live status, AMS filament slots, uploads, start, pause, resume, cancel, camera and G-code lines.

  • Live camera

SlicerX shows a printer's camera as live video, not stills.

  • Creality

Connects to Creality printers without rooting them: K1, K1C, K1 Max, K1 SE, K2 Plus, Ender-3 V3 series and Creality Hi.

  • Duet (RepRapFirmware)

Connects to Duet 2 and Duet 3 boards running RepRapFirmware 3, standalone or with a single board computer running DuetWebServer.

  • Elegoo Centauri Carbon (SDCP)

Connects to the Elegoo Centauri Carbon over its network protocol, SDCP: status, temperatures, uploads, start, pause, resume, cancel and camera snapshots.

  • Save G-code (no connection)

For printers SlicerX cannot talk to: the Snapmaker J1 and Artisan, Marlin printers with no network, and anything else without a supported interface.

  • Finding printers on your network

Add printer, then Scan, lists the printers SlicerX can see.

  • Home Assistant

Lets SlicerX see the switches, lights and fans in your Home Assistant, and (after you approve each action) turn them on or off.

  • Moonraker (Klipper)

Connects to any printer running Klipper with Moonraker: Voron, RatRig, Sovol, Elegoo Neptune 4 and others.

  • OctoPrint

Connects to an OctoPrint server (OctoPi or any install): status, temperatures, uploads, start, pause, resume, cancel, G-code lines and webcam snapshots.

  • Printer catalog

@slicerx/printer-catalog (packages/connect/catalog) is the data that first-run setup reads: which brands and models exist, how each one moves, how big it is, which nozzles it takes, how SlicerX...

  • PrusaLink

Connects to Prusa printers that run PrusaLink: MK4S, MK4, MK3.9, MINI+, XL and Core One.

  • Snapmaker

Connects to the Snapmaker U1 and to Snapmaker 2.0 machines (A150, A250, A350) in their 3D printing configuration: status, temperatures, uploads, start, pause, resume, cancel and G-code lines.

  • Spoolman

Reads your filament inventory from a Spoolman server (materials, colors, remaining grams) and can subtract used filament from a spool.

Settings

  • Settings guide

@slicerx/settings (TypeScript) and sx-settings (Rust) read the same data files: the schema, the Easy mode map and the profile import rules.

  • Settings reference

Every setting in the SlicerX schema: 731 keys, named like OrcaSlicer's settings (commit 7d42ad17a45c1c44d07f382f14244223565e9cb8) so profiles interchange.
